Peace tower to remember Lennon

Yoko Ono will unveil a peace tower in memory of John Lennon, with “like minded friends from all over the world” invited to join the ceremony next month.

The tower has been designed by Ono and has ‘imagine peace’ engraved in 24 languages.

Capsules with 100,000 messages from well-wishers around the world will be buried near the artwork.

It will be sited in Iceland, which Ono claims is a ‘unique’ and ‘eco-friendly’ country.

Lennon predicted the tower would happen 40 years ago. Oko commented: “I consider myself very fortunate to see the dream my husband and I dreamt together become reality.”

The tower will be unveiled on October 9, marking what would have been the former Beatle’s 67th birthday.
