Simon Cowell wants Cheryl Cole X Factor return
Simon Cowell thinks Cheryl Cole is the only person who can save 'The X Factor' and has asked her to name her price in a bid to get her to return to her role as a judge.
Simon Cowell has told Cheryl Cole to name her price in a bid to get her to return to 'The X Factor'.
The music mogul spent three-and-a-half hours with the 'Call My Name' singer at his Los Angeles home this week and he reportedly told her he will pay her anything she wants to reprise her role as a judge on the ITV1 show.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "He's desperate to get Cheryl back on 'X Factor UK' because it's lost its way.
"The money on the table would be a fortune - at least double what she got last time. She could have what she wanted."
Cheryl quit 'The X Factor' last year, along with Simon, to take up a judging position on the US version, but she was sacked just days after starting.
She and Simon fell out but are now back on speaking terms and he is keen for Cheryl to replace Tulisa, who he feels no longer has a future with the show.
The source continued: "He doesn't want to see 'X Factor' going down the way it is and he thinks Cheryl is the next best thing to him.
"Simon wants to get rid of Tulisa so this meeting will be part and parcel of that."
This year's show - which has a judging line-up of Tulisa, Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh - has seen viewers drop by around two million and show boss Simon knows things need to change.
