DJ-of-the-moment Mark Ronson will perform at the BBC Electric Proms next month, joining a line up of more than 80 acts.
The New York-based DJ will join the BBC Concert Orchestra for a performance at the festival, which runs from October 24-28.
He will collaborate with an array of artists - including Tim Burgess and Lily Allen - to fulfill the brief, which is to create ‘new moments in music’.
Jamie Cullum will pair up with Japanese club band Soil and Pimp Sessions, while Kaiser Chiefs will join forces with David Arnold to come up with a new twist on their original material.
Festival director Lorna Clarke said: “I am delighted that the first artists on this year’s line up have embraced the central challenge of the Electric Proms – to create new moments in music.
“I know that they will give our broadcast audiences across the country something truly special.”
