• Tony Law The oddball Canadian is back with more time-travelling surrealism, if his Fringe show Revenge of the Dog of Time is any guide. Ingenuity and innovation are the Law man’s bywords. Jongleurs, Glasgow, Fri 7 & Sat 8 Sep; the Stand, Glasgow, Thu 13–Sat 15 Sep.
• Rough Cuts The Comedy Unit acts out some fresh-as-a-daisy material and lets the audience decide whether it has any legs. The Stand, Glasgow, Wed 12 Sep.
• Sean Hughes The man formerly known as the youngest ever winner of the Perrier takes his Fringe show out west with lots of stuff about being a 40something man trapped in a 25-year-old’s body and how your parents get smaller as they get older. Ageing is Seany’s big theme these days. Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow, Fri 14 Sep.
• Arnab Chanda A rising stand-up star who performed with Greg McHugh last month, this young American is developing a distinctive voice. Jongleurs, Glasgow, Fri 14 & Sat 15 Sep.
• Stephen Carlin Throughout August, this laconic Scot was the Armchair Renaissance Man and he will surely be charming the Glasgow folks with more of his sit-down stand-up. Whether he will be returning to his earlier themes of Jimmy Savile, snooker and National Socialism is another question. The Stand, Glasgow, Thu 20 Sep.
