BINTM's Jennifer: the judges tried to change me
Ousted 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model' contestant Jennifer Joint thinks the judges shouldn't have tried to make her into something she isn't with a radical new look.
Jennifer Joint wishes the 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model' judges hadn't tried to "stereotype" her.
The 19-year-old model hopeful - who became the latest contestant to leave the Sky Living show last night (27.08.12) - regrets being given a drastic image overhaul by the judges, whom she feels tried to make her fit a punk rock mould because of her tattoos.
Jennifer exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I just wish that they hadn't tried to make me into something I wasn't. I'm not a rocker chick, I'm not rebellious. I'm not like that, I'm nice!
"I do think they tried to stereotype me and put me into a certain look which is not the way I am. I went on the show with tattoos but the tattoos don't define me, I define them.
"Just because I like tattoos it doesn't mean that I want to have all my hair cut off and to look like a boy."
The feisty student hasn't let the experience put her off and is keen to break the stigma that is attached to tattoos by making her mark on the industry and gracing the pages of a top magazine.
She explained: "I'd love to make it mainstream because it's somewhere where models with tattoos haven't classically managed to make it big time.
"You see male models getting into Vogue, but there's not many female models with real tattoos in big magazines or doing major fashion shows so managing to do anything like that would be amazing!"
