Pop bitch with a heart
Amstell is a good date. He makes you feel clever with his philosophical musings, draws you in with candid tales of heartache and social ineptitude and proves that his pulling power is still mighty away from the telly with tightly written, machine-gun delivered, pathos-ridden material. Even though the show ends quickly, with no post-coital cuddle, this snarky little pop bitch with a heart is a keeper. (Suzanne Black)
Pleasance Courtyard, 556 6550, until 27 Aug, 10.30pm, £11–£12 (£9.50–£10.50).
