'Coronation Street's Mary Taylor is set to try and woo Roy Cropper.
Mary (Patti Clare) has switched her affections from newsagent Norris Cole to the cafe owner, and dresses up to woo him in a future episode of the show.
A source told Inside Soap magazine: "Mary has impeccable taste - she likes her fellas cultured and sophisticated. Roy is a triple threat - he's clever, successful and has a lot of interests, so it's not hard to see why Mary is smitten."
Roy (David Neilson) and Mary have found themselves thrown together often recently after Roy's wife Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) and Norris (Malcolm Hebden) have both taken up dancing lessons, but the insider doesn't think Roy will be tempted away from his wife.
The insider said: "One problem could be Mary's eagerness. Roy won't react well to her throwing herself at him like she has with Norris. He's only interested in friendship, but Mary finds it difficult to conceal her passion."
Mary's new love obsession with Roy is set to escalate over the summer, which could easily end up culminating in a showdown with Hayley.
