Nicole Scherzinger's 750k X Factor deal
Nicole Scherzinger is set to sign a £750,000 deal to become the fourth 'X Factor' judge and join Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the panel.
Nicole Scherzinger is set to sign a £750,000 deal to become the fourth 'X Factor' judge.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer was originally offered £500,000 to join Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos on the judging panel of the ITV1 show but rejected boss Simon Cowell's offer.
So Simon upped it by £250,000 and she will be announced as Kelly Rowland's official replacement on Monday (18.06.12).
A source said: "Nicole has played the long game on this. She was offered a £500,000 deal a week ago but kept her counsel and managed to get this bumped up by another £250,000. She is thrilled with the offer and is expected to sign in the next day and be in place as the fourth permanent judge by Monday."
Simon recently axed Nicole - who was a guest judge on the show two years ago - from the judging panel of the US version of 'The X Factor' but he still thought she could engage with audiences in the UK.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Nicole thought her 'X Factor' days were over when she was axed from the US 'X Factor' but she was a hit with British viewers as a guest judge two years ago and when she helped out this series."
Following the departure of Kelly bosses tried out several guest judges, including Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Rita Ora, Anastacia and Nicole, to see who would become the next judge.
