Davina McCall's Big Brother snub
Davina McCall no longer watches 'Big Brother' because she "can't commit" to the Channel 5 reality show, despite hosting the programme for 10 years during its time on Channel 4.
Davina McCall no longer watches 'Big Brother'.
The 44-year-old TV presenter "can't commit" to watching the reality TV show - which she hosted from its inaugural season in 2000 until 2010 before the programme moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5 - because she is so busy with other projects, but she still has the "fondest love" for it.
She said: "I don't watch 'Big Brother' any more. I started last year but it felt like a busman's holiday.
"I've got other work and stuff and it's difficult to commit - and I can't commit to it all. Then it's not worth it but I still have the fondest love for it."
Since hosting 'Big Brother', Davina has gone on to front 'Got To Dance', 'The Biggest Loser' and 'Million Pound Drop', and she loves the adrenaline rush that comes with presenting the Channel 4 quiz show live, particularly when she is forced to make quick decisions to overcome onscreen issues.
She added to The Sun newspaper: "I love it when things go wrong because those are the bits where I feel like I earn my crust as I have to think on my toes.
"There was a really funny episode recently when Chris Moyles tweeted there was a speck of dirt on our questions monitor so this guy ran in during the break and cleaned it.
"But then he accidentally turned the screen off and I had to explain what was happening.
"And sometimes people faint. We've had a couple of people faint in one show in the audience so I mentioned it and gave everyone at home little updates. If I was at home I would want to know how they were doing.
"There is nothing quite like live TV for adrenaline."
