Drug-fried caper

Cult independent Canadian filmmaker Allan Moyle proved himself an able chronicler of the 1990s with sleeper hits Pump Up The Volume (1990) and Empire Records (1995) but moved mostly into television in the new millennium. He returns to the big screen with Weirdsville, a drug-fried caper flick about losers Dexter (Scott Speedman) and Royce (Wes Bentley) who are on the run from their dealer. It’s fun, fast and furious and was a huge hit at this year’s Slamdance Film Festival, an offshoot of the Sundance Film Festival in chilly old Utah.
