A homeless man wowed the 'X Factor' judges yesterday (29.05.12).
Robbie, 26 - who has been sleeping rough for six years - impressed the panel of Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and guest judge Rita Ora as he belted out an acoustic version of Paolo Nutin's 'Last Request' at London's O2 Arena.
A source told The Sun: "This guy showed up and he did look a bit scruffier than your average 'X Factor' wannabe.
"He was wearing a battered old hat and looked pretty sorry for himself. His story really touched the judges as it was obvious how much it meant to him to be there on stage.
"He did a great version of 'Last Request'. It was a very special moment. Gary said he hoped this performance would change his life."
However, Bianca Gascoigne - step daughter of shamed football star Paul Gascoigne - failed to impressed the judges with her rendition of Mary J Blige's 'I'm Going Down'.
The source said: "She couldn't get off the stage fast enough."
Former 'Popstars: The Rivals' contestant Nicola Ward - who famously pulled out of the finals of the competition on the advice of her boyfriend - also sang 'I'm Going Down' and promised she could "still bring it".
There was controversy at the auditions as a wannabe stormed the stage demanding an audition after he failed to make it through to perform for the judges.
The insider explained: "He got on stage in a break between acts and refused to go. He said he auditioned in Cardiff last year and was told to come back this year.
"But this year he didn't get past the first round so he just showed up in the audience and got up on stage.
"But Tulisa laid into him telling him it wasn't fair on those who had been waiting for hours."
