Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Movement, song and animation

This engaging mix of movement, song and animation presents a variety of vivid situations. The central characters are two eerie sisters not unlike the little girls from The Shining, who lead us through a series of grim gothic adventures in an inter-war setting and style. Live music adds to the mix. It’s great fun – just try not to catch the performers’ eyes when they’re looking for volunteers from the audience. (Steve Cramer)

Underbelly, 0870 745 3083, until 26 Aug, 8.15pm, £8.50–£7.50 (£7.50–£8.50).
