Robbie Savage: Alesha Dixon will regret leaving Strictly
Robbie Savage has blasted Alesha Dixon for leaving 'Strictly Come Dancing' to join the panel of 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Robbie Savage has slammed Alesha Dixon's decision to leave 'Strictly Come Dancing' for 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The singer chose to become a judge on ITV1's talent search show rather than return to the panel of the BBC One celebrity dance programme but Robbie, who placed sixth on the show last year thinks it was the wrong decision.
Speaking at the Sony Radio Academy Awards last night (14.05.12), he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "'Strictly' is the biggest show on TV and I don't understand why Alesha would leave it for a talent show which a dog won. No disrespect to her but I really think she will regret leaving 'Strictly' when it returns to BBC later this year."
This year's 'Britain's Got Talent' was won by performing dog Pudsey and his owner Ashleigh Butler.
While Robbie was critical of Alesha's move to 'BGT', he still had kind words for the singer, who he says was always encouraging to him when he took part in 'Strictly'.
He added: "I really like Alesha. She was great on 'Strictly Come Dancing' and she was always good to me, really encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the show and would tell anyone who is thinking of taking part to just go for it.
"Although they need to be aware that it will take over their lives."
Robbie, 2011 winner of the Sony DAB Rising Star Award, hosted this year's VIP Green Room at the Sony Radio Awards. Luke Franks, presenter at Fun Kids Radio, took the title of Rising Star for 2012.
