Danny O'Donoghue: X Factor will struggle to attract talent
Danny O'Donoghue believes 'The Voice' will attract more talent than 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' next year because contestants prefer the style of the BBC One show.
Danny O'Donoghue believes 'The Voice' will attract more talent than 'The X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' next year.
Although the BBC One show - which Danny features on as a coach alongside Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am - is only in its first season, Danny thinks it will leave Simon Cowell's reality TV shows in the shade as contestants would prefer to audition for 'The Voice'.
He explained: "This year's talent has been amazing but I think next year's show will be tenfold. You are going to get a lot of talented artists who would never dream of auditioning before coming to 'The Voice'.
"I was on radio with 'Britain's Got Talent' winner Jai McDowall and even he admitted he would have preferred to audition for 'The Voice'. That speaks volumes. 'The Voice' has elevated the level of talent people expect to see now.
"It's another level to 'BGT' and 'The X Factor'.
Danny also hit out at the "cruelty" of the judges on rival shows.
He said: "You don't have to be cruel for ratings. And I think 'The Voice' ratings speak for themselves."
