Matthew Wolfenden has sustained an intimate injury training for 'Dancing On Ice'.
The 'Emmerdale' actor has been left in agony after accidentally whipping himself between his legs three times as he rehearsed for props week with partner Nina Ulanova.
A source said: "Matthew loved getting into character as a lion tamer and really cracking the whip.
"But the whip's quite long and he accidentally caught himself between the legs.
"It would have been all right if it had just happened once, but after three times he was in serious pain. It's really knocked his confidence and he's really embarrassed."
Show bosses have vowed to make this year's props week tougher than ever, and Matthew has also been given a circus podium, a hoop and a glass bottle, while Chico has dumbbells, a barbell and a test-your-strength hammer for his circus strongman portrayal.
Meanwhile, Chemmy Alcott will be a magician with a rope, cards, flowers, cane and magic hankies, and Jennifer Ellison will be a clown with a squirty flower, top hat, handkerchief and two suitcases.
Jorgie Porter has just one prop - a ribbon - as a gymnast but bosses insist she hasn't got an unfair advantage.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "It looks like Jorgie's got the easiest task but it takes a lot of work to make the ribbon look impressive."
