Drugs, dance and global warming

Transformation is a compelling tale of one woman’s extraordinary life. An actor, dancer and environmental campaigner explains what she calls the transformation cycle, beginning in chaos and progressing full circle to order. Using her physicality and concise narration she talks us through the abuse, rapes, drugs, dancing and drama of her life. And it’s some life.

Instead of seeking pity she aims to provoke a reaction, coming to the conclusion that we abuse our planet as much as we do ourselves and if it’s possible to transform our own lives then it’s possible to do the same for the planet. It’s a slightly contrived metaphor but she just about gets away with it.

Her high energy levels and intense belief in what she’s doing, combined with her physical, controlled movements in such a compact space create a mesmerising visual feast. As she highlights, she’s not a politician, singer or TV star but she has a story to tell and an important message to spread. (Greer Ogston)
