Musical take on the master’s many tales

Unless you were brought up in a workhouse, you’ll be familiar with at least one of Dickens’ many tales. Beginning with Oliver Twist, this musical, is not quite as Dickens intended. We embark upon a full speed tour of his books, ending with A Christmas Carol (Tiny Tim’s stadium tour coming soon to a place near you). It’s intercut with scenes from Dickens’ own personal life filled with ‘sorrow and anxiety’ looking at his family and his love for the stage, in particular his love of performing the bludgeoning scene from Oliver.

This spoof almost-musical flies through his famous stories with catchy tunes, played on guitar and violin by the cast, impressive harmonies and hilarious versions of these classic characters, some of whom you begin to view in an entirely new light. It’s full of wit and energy from a highly versatile and talented cast. Experience some of Dickens’ greatest works as you’ve never seen them before (and probably never will again). (Greer Ogston)
