Phillip Schofield admits Christmas in his house is a ''military affair'' because everyone is given their ''respective jobs'' by his strict mother-in-law.

The 'This Morning' presenter - who has two daughters, Ruby and Molly, with wife Stephanie Lowe - explained the festive period in his household is "very traditional" and everyone is given their "respective jobs" by his strict mother-in-law.

He told BANG Showbiz: "For me, it's a traditional family Christmas and all the extended family come to us. It's a military affair and everyone is responsible for something.

"My mother-in-law brings all of the vegetables and everyone has their respective job."

Phillip admitted as it's rare to see his family all together on one occasion, they like to "shut the door to the outside world" over the festive season.

He added: "It's very much a big, family Christmas and if I'm totally honest, we just like to shut the door to the outside world and just have that time together.

"It's the only time of the year where we can all get together because everyone is so busy. We watch the telly and play games. There's very young children in the family as well, which is always lovely. It will be very happy and very relaxing."
