Gnarls Barkley singer Cee-Lo Green is planning to release Jimi Hendrix material from the early 60s on his record label. The masters were previously held by Ed Chalpin, the producer responsible for Hendrix’s first record deal, and include Ballad of Jimi, Knock Yourself Out and How Would You Feel? The recordings, which were shelved for 15 years, will be released on Cee-Lo’s Radiculture Record, in conjunction with the sample clearance company Alien Music Services. Head of Alien Music Services, Danny Zook commented: “When I first heard these masters I was floored. Cee-Lo combined with Hendrix are two of the most out-of-the-box artists of all time.”
