Date set for Kurt Cobain documentary release

A documentary about Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is set to be released in the US in October. The AJ Schnack movie Kurt Cobain: About a Son premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival last month. According to Schnack’s blog, the documentary will hit cinemas in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle at the beginning of October. The film features a voiceover by Cobain taken from interviews with journalist Michael Azerrad and an original score composed by Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard. David Bowie, The Melvins and Scratch Acid will appear on the documentary soundtrack, due for release in the US on September 11.
