Big Brother contestants Jay McKray and Louise Cliffe got engaged at the top of The Wheel of Manchester last week.

Big Brother contestants Jay McKray and Louise Cliffe are engaged.

The reality TV couple decided to get married just two weeks after leaving the show, with cheeky geordie Jay popping the question while on the VIP box of The Wheel of Manchester.

Jay said: "I rang around trying to get a hot air balloon, but it's seasonal. And a helicopter ride meant going 45 minutes outside of Manchester and I knew she'd be on to me. So I booked the VIP box on the Manchester big wheel with champagne."

Louise admitted she didn't see the proposal coming, and was shocked when Jay pulled a ring out of his pants.

She told the latest issue of new! magazine: "I was just shocked really, but dead happy. Every girl wants to get married and meet their dream man and I've met mine. He's my soulmate. I couldn't be happier."

Jay added: "I had no pockets, so I had to hide the ring in my kecks!"

The couple are planning to wed in the next year, and have started hatching plans to move in together.

Jay explained: "We've got my flat in Newcastle which we will stay in until we have a family, and then we'll get a place near Manchester, so we've got two places."
