Zaltzman has decided to create a utopia using a flea circus as a microcosm of humanity and his crowd are going to help. As a vehicle for political yet absurdist humour the structure works well, providing opportunities for potshots at governmental institutions. In places it’s endearingly shambolic, and ends on a slightly apologetic note as he abandons the fleas as a bad idea, but his material ultimately wins out.
The Stand, 558 7272, until 27 Aug (not 13), 3.10pm, £7 (£6).
