James 'Arg' Argent won Lydia Bright back by buying her a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes that helped to mend her ''broken heart''.

The 'Only Way Is Essex' star - who has dated the blonde beauty on and off for three years - managed to worm his way back into Lydia's affections after a split earlier this year by presenting her with the designer footwear, which helped to mend her "broken heart".

Talking about her shoe collection to Javari.co.uk in a 'Shoe The Keyhole' video, Lydia explained: "When me and James broke up in the second series, he was like, 'I really need to win Lydia back. What can I do to win Lydia back?' And guess what he thought of? Shoes. He was definitely right!

"He turned up to my house with a bag and a little booklet. I was like 'James, you can't buy your way back to me. You have to earn it'. But then he pulled out the bag and I saw them and was like, 'OK, let's get back together'.

"So that's how we got back together. A pair of Louboutins mended my broken heart."

Despite Arg having previously cheated on Lydia, the 20-year-old fashionista insists she is "not a doormat" and can't help her feelings for her "soul mate".

She recently said: "We're so happy to be back together. But I want people to know I'm not a doormat. Getting back with James after what happened was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made.

"I'm a proud person. I always thought that if someone ever cheated on me I'd stick to my morals and never take them back. But the thing is, I always saw him as my soul mate."
