Alex Jones is ''mortified'' by how bad she has been in 'Strictly Come Dancing' rehearsals and is struggling to grasp which direction to move.

Alex Jones is having trouble remembering her left and right.

The 'One Show' host is "mortified" at how bad she has been in rehearsals for 'Strictly Come Dancing' with partner James Jordan as she is struggling to master the basics - such as which direction to move in.

She said: "I was mortified at how bad I was, especially during our first few sessions. James looked completely distraught and already defeated.

"I really need to learn the basics before I can even contemplate getting past show one, the basics being my left from my right. If you ever see me on 'The One Show' with 'L' and 'R' written on my hands then you know why. Believe me. It's already happened once."

Alex admitted she has had "anxiety dreams" ahead of taking to the dancefloor for the programme, which begins on Friday (30.09.11).

She wrote in her column for Radio Times magazine: "For days I've been waking up in cold sweats having had nightmares about forgetting my costume and performing naked, live on 'Strictly'.

"Either that or I'm shattered having spent the entire night cha cha cha-ing in my sleep. Yes, life post the launch show has been filled with classic anxiety dreams."
