Glasgow rockers Franz Ferdinand have announced plans to play a string of low key gigs across Scotland this September. The group, who are currently writing their third album, will perform at seven small venues in a bid to reach more fans. Gigs will include Fubar in Stirling, the Ba Club in Fort William, Portree Community Centre and Shetland’s Whiteness & Weisdale Hall. Bassist Robert Hardy explained the line up on their official website. “Although we’ve played gigs in a lot of places around the world over the last few years there’s still towns in Scotland that we haven’t played. To help redress this we’re pleased to announce a short tour of Scotland in September.” He added: “We’ve tried to make as many as possible of the shows over 14’s or over 16’s.” The band plan to perform material from their new album, due to be released early next year. The £15 tickets will go on sale tomorrow (July 28) at 9am.
