Ninja Tune signed Bristolian delivers relaxed soul sounds
The fourth offering from the Bristol-born artist Fink, aka Fin Greenall and band, was recorded in the space of 20 days in Los Angeles and produced by Billy Bush, who has worked with artists including Beck and Garbage. Fink has written in the past for John Legend and soul stylings reflect in opening track 'Perfect Darkness', 'Yesterday was Hard on All of Us' and 'Who Says'.
Other tracks are more folksy, with the Gomez-esque 'Fear is Like Fire'. Fink states that he sings about other stuff apart from relationships and love, as seen with track 'Foot in the Door'; a perfect lament for those ‘from the outside looking in’ trying to embark on a career. Fans of John Legend, Paolo Nutini and Turin Brakes will enjoy this offering of sublime, sun-drenched, chill-out soul-folk. Best listened to on a Sunday morning.
