Dance Base Presents . . . With four programmes and a kids show to pick from, you’ll be spoilt for choice at Scotland’s National Centre for Dance. Contemporary, Indian, hip hop, dance theatre – it’s all here and more. Dance Base, 225 5525, 10–18 Aug (not 13), times vary, £11 (£7); Previews 8 & 9 Aug, £6–£8.

On Danse The International Festival dance programme gets off to a fine start with this unique show from France’s Compagnie Montalvo-Hervieu. Playhouse, 473 2000, 11–13 Aug, 8pm, £8–£28.

Maximum Crew Breakdance spectacular from one of Korea’s hottest b-boy crews. Assembly@Assembly Hall, 623 3030, until 27 Aug, £12–£13 (£10–£11).

Incarnat Easily one of the most disturbing but compelling shows at this year’s Fringe. Brazil’s Lia Rodriquez Companhia use blood, blood and more blood to highlight the suffering of the world. Assembly Aurora Nova, 623 3030, until 27 Aug (not Tue), 9.30pm, £12–£13 (£9–£10).

Meli Melo II High camp meets technically skilled dancing in this fun show parodying everything from ballet to ice dance. Assembly Universal Arts, 623 3030, until 27 Aug (not 13, 20), 10.15pm, 12–£13 (£10–£11).
