Corrie Carla's HIV scare
Coronation Street's Carla Connor will fear she has contracted HIV after her brutal rape at the hands of fiance Frank Foster.
Coronation Street's Carla Connor will fear she has contracted HIV following her brutal rape.
The brunette businesswoman - played by Alison King - will be terrified she has caught the virus after being sexually attacked by cruel boyfriend Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel) after she calls off their forthcoming wedding and announces her love for boozy bookie Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
In the shocking scenes, which will air on ITV1 in September, Carla will arrive at a sexual assault crisis centre immediately after the horrific attack.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, a female doctor tells her: "I know this is very difficult for you right now, Mrs. Connor, but we have to talk about tests for HIV and hepatitis. We can also offer you emergency contraception."
With the attack taking place on the eve of Carla and Frank's wedding, the factory boss will be left bruised and bleeding on the floor of her flat.
However, her HIV worries could signify the start of a dark episode for Carla, as it was recently revealed she will attempt suicide after the rape.
A source said: "Carla is at rock bottom. She prides herself on being invincible and feels utterly broken by Frank's actions. Peter is the only friend she has left and she's never felt rejection like it. She wants to end it all."
