Mathew Horne
Mathew Horne has confessed he would be prepared to make a 'Gavin and Stacey' movie if he could film it on the beach in a hot country.
Mathew Horne would make a 'Gavin and Stacey' movie if it involved the characters going on holiday.
While the 32-year-old actor - who played the male lead in the BBC One comedy opposite Joanna Page - has previously said a big screen adaptation of the show would was a "bad idea", he would consider it if a sun-soaked holiday was involved.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I don't think we should make a film for a film's sake. We should make a film if the idea is of a filmic nature although I haven't heard anything about a film.
"Going on holiday would be nice, we could do a nice long three-and-a-half hour film where we're all on holiday. Gavin would have a broken leg where he'd just have to sit in the sun."
However, Mathew is keen for the cast - including creators James Corden and Ruth Jones, as well as Alison Steadman and Rob Brydon - to reunite for a one-off Christmas special and hopes his alter-ego will soon become a dad.
He added: "I think you'll get to see Gavin become a dad next year. I think there will probably a Christmas special."
Mathew is also starring in the movie adaptation of 'Horrid Henry', which hits cinemas on Friday (29.07.11).
