Adrian and Christine to front evening show?
Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley will reportedly be given a new early evening show and replaced on 'Daybreak' by unknown presenters.
Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are reportedly set to move to an evening programme.
ITV bosses are desperate to revamp ailing morning show 'Daybreak' but want to avoid paying off the presenting duo, and think the perfect solution would be to move its hosts to a tea time slot in the hope of them regaining the chemistry that made them such a hit on BBC's 'The One Show'.
Show chiefs are then planning to hunt for lesser-known personalities to front a revitalised 'Daybreak'.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Using lesser-known faces could well be the key.
"As we've learned from our experiences on 'TV-am' and 'GMTV' and now with 'Daybreak', parachuting in big stars with a huge fanfare isn't popular - in fact, it's a recipe for disaster."
With rival programme 'BBC Breakfast' faced with losing presenters and production staff when it moves to Salford, Greater Manchester, 'Daybreak' chiefs think now could be the perfect time to re-launch their show.
The insider added: "'BBC Breakfast' is doing really well because it gives people what they want in the mornings - good news.
"The good thing for us is they're about to shoot themselves in the shoot by shifting their very successful show up to Manchester, losing half the production team, several presenters and very possibly most of their guests.
"This is the perfect time to revamp 'Daybreak' and take them on."
