David Walliams would consider being a judge on 'The X Factor', but only if he could sit next to show boss Simon Cowell.

David Walliams would be a judge on 'The X Factor', but only if he could sit next to Simon Cowell.

Although the seat beside Simon - who left the British show to focus on launching 'X Factor' in the US - is usually reserved for a woman, the comedian would love to sit alongside the 51-year-old music mogul on the ITV1 show.

He said: "I'd take part in 'The X Factor' if I could have the seat next to Simon. That would be my condition. I'd like to be in the Cheryl Cole seat. He usually has the person he fancies sitting next to him."

However, David is unsure if he could criticise other people, because he just wants to be liked.

He added to heat magazine: "But I actually don't know if I could judge people's talent. I don't know if I've got enough talent myself I still think I'd find it hard to say no to people.

"Simon didn't ever need to be liked whereas a performer generally wants the approval of the public, especially if you're a comedian. So if you have to say no and start getting booed by audiences, it can be tricky. But I don't know, maybe one day I'll do one."

So how is the headline possibly true? Turns out he doesn't even particularly want to be a judge, no one has asked him, but he made a sort of light-hearted comment about Simon fancying him..
