Alison King hates her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego Carla Connor's ''nasally'' voice.
Alison King hates her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego's voice.
The 38-year-old actress - who plays mouthy Carla Connor in the ITV1 soap - wishes the character could go to elocution lessons to improve her tone, as she can't stand her "nasally twang".
She said: "If I could change anything about Carla it would be her voice. I don't know how I ended up playing her with that terrible nasally twang - but I'm stuck with it now!
"Maybe she could have elocution lessons."
Alison also admitted she finds it difficult to be in scenes with co-stars Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper) and Antony Cotton (Sean Tully), as the prank-playing pair are constantly making her giggle.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I always laugh in the middle of scenes. When Antony, Julie and I are in the same room, it's lethal.
"If I'm in a scene with Julie and I go a bit wrong, I can't look at her. I seem to lose it in a way that makes her laugh for hours and hours."
