Jedward
Jedward want to win the Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, Germany, tonight (14.05.11) and then go on to become bigger than Swedish pop legends ABBA.
Jedward have vowed to win the Eurovision Song Contest tonight (14.05.11) and then go on to become bigger than ABBA.
The twins - John and Edward Grimes - are determined to be crowned the victors at the annual event, at which they are representing Ireland, with their track 'Lipstick'.
And then they want to replicate the Swedish group who achieved worldwide pop success after winning the competition in 1974 with their song 'Waterloo'.
Edward told The Sun newspaper: "When ABBA were on the contest it was all about the outfits, and we want to do the same. We can't wait to be really successful all around the world."
The boys are currently second favourites behind France's entry Amaury Vassili, but the duo earned a lot of new fans when they performed at the semi-final in Dusseldorf, Germany, on Thursday (12.05.11), and their manager Louis Walsh insists the former 'X Factor' contestants can go on to become global stars.
He said: "This is just the start. We've got huge plans to make them stars around the world. They will make their third million this year."
Despite Jedward's plans, Blue intend to take home the trophy for the UK.
The group - Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe, Duncan James and Antony Costa - have had a great response in Europe to their track 'I Can', signing new record deals in Germany and Italy, and now believe they have a great chance to win.
Simon said: "People's perceptions of us are changing."
