David Walliams and Lara Stone
David Walliams has spent £1.7 million on making his and wife Lara Stone's home perfect for her.
David Walliams has splashed out £1.7 million on the perfect home for his wife Lara Stone.
The British comic - who married supermodel Lara in a star-studded ceremony last year - virtually knocked down the property he already owned in the British seaside resort of Brighton in order to rebuild it to his wife's specifications.
The renovations include an en-suite master bedroom, a nursery style room, extensive wardrobe for Lara and a mirrored dressing room.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "David was house-hunting in Brighton for some time - he loves the bohemian feel of the town. After exchanging on a stunning sea-view house, he and Lara decided to completely renovate it. They want to make it a real family home and add loads of personal touches. Both David and Lara would love to have kids so she is keen for a nursery.
"As a supermodel she also has an extensive wardrobe so David will be giving her a room dedicated to clothes storage."
David's plans for the house are not surprising after he previously revealed he would much rather spend a quiet night at home watching TV with his wife than attend showbiz parties.
He said: "If you are with someone you adore, you're happy to just spend time together. You don't have to be doing something really exciting all the time."
