Chris Fountain was "star-struck" when he met his fellow 'Coronation Street' cast members.
The 23-year-old actor - who will soon descend upon the cobbles playing 'Corrie' bad boy Tommy Duckworth - admitted he was "daunted" by his first day on the ITV1 soap, but his friends on the series helped him to settle in.
He said: "It was quite daunting, to be honest, as it's a massive institution. I was really star-struck to meet Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) and Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan). They've been in the show since I was born, so they're living legends.
"I'm good friends with Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and I actually went to school with Jack P Shepherd (David Platt). Ryan's been great. I've actually been staying at his house during the week, as he lives not too far away from the set."
The former 'Hollyoaks' hunk explained he is enjoying playing his flirty alter-ego because it's interesting to portray someone so different to himself.
Chris added: "As an actor, it's great playing someone who's different to myself.
"At the moment, he's just full of confidence, chatting up everything going!"
