60s pop and Velvet Underground influences on current single Beachy Head
This London-based quartet are originally from Glasgow, and are playing some dates north of the border, where it all began. Having initially being pegged as harking back to the C86 era, Veronica Falls were keen to shed this ‘twee’ label, and prefer people to pick up on their 60s pop and Velvet Underground influences – which can be heard on current single ‘Beachy Head’. The fact that song made it’s way on to this year’s Rough Trade Shops Indiepop compilation, plus they spent the summer supporting Teenage Fanclub can’t have done their blossoming career any harm either.
Captains Rest, Glasgow , Wed 10 Nov; Sneaky Pete’s Edinburgh, Thu 11 Nov.
