Kings Of Leon frontman Caleb Followill hates "f***ing hipsters".

The 'Sex On Fire' singer doesn't like fashionable bands and says his group have always strived to achieve longevity, rather than indie credibility.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: "I hate f***ing hipsters. Everyone talks about indie this and indie that, but would you really want to be one of those indie bands that makes two albums and disappears?

"That's just sad. When we signed on with our manager, we all said we wanted to have a box-set career. We'll gladly be the next generation of bands that aren't going anywhere."

The American group found success in their home country with fourth album 'Only By The Night', by which time Caleb has admitted they weren't consciously trying to write big hits.

He said: "The first three albums didn't do nearly what we thought they would. I thought our second album would be the one that brought everyone around and like 'ok these guys are actually more than just moustaches'.

"The fourth album we just didn't care, we were just like we'll make the record we want to make and it is what it is and it's a win, win - if it becomes big and breaks us in America then so be it, if not then things can't get any worse."

Kings Of Leon's fifth album 'Come Around Sundown' is available now.
