Alan Sugar wants Lord Simon Cowell
Lord Alan Sugar has called on 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell to follow in his footsteps - and be given a title for his inspiration to Britain's youngsters.
Lord Alan Sugar thinks Simon Cowell deserves to follow in his footsteps - and be given a title.
The 'Apprentice' star - who was made a peer last year - believes the music mogul and 'X Factor' boss has been such an inspiration to young people with his ITV1 shows, he deserves to be recognised by Britain's Queen Elizabeth.
Alan is also adamant TV legend Bruce Forsyth, 82, should also be honoured because both he and Simon are great ambassadors for Britain.
He said: "They deserve one, I think they do. Certainly Brucie - and obviously Simon for what he's achieved.
"At the end of the day he is a commercial man but he's inspired lots of people, created entertainment for lots of people and given opportunity to young people.
"Anyone who has done that should be rewarded. Simon is a great ambassador for Britain."
The TV star also claims he would have jumped at the chance compete on the show and win the high-earning job given to the winner if it had been around when he was younger.
He added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Any young man would have done it back in my day - although the wage would have been £10,000 something like that."
The sixth series of 'The Apprentice' starts tonight (06.10.10) at 9pm on BBC One.
