Seal was ''bullied'' into embarking on a music career by his ex-girlfriend, after he wowed her with his vocal skills.

Seal was "bullied" into embarking on a music career by his ex-girlfriend.

The 'Kiss From A Rose' hitmaker - who raises four children with wife Heidi Klum - was pushed into singing professionally after amazing a former lover with his talents when he was 23.

He recalled: "She marched me down to Tottenham Court Road in London and bought me a bass guitar, drum machine and a four-track and said, 'That's what you should be doing. You're wasting your time. Get on with it.' She sort of bullied me into it."

Despite his worldwide success, the 47-year-old star insists he always puts his family before his work.

He added: "Music is something that you love doing but second to the thing you really love, which is your wife and kids. I mean, it's only music - it's not that important."

The 'Killer' singer recently rented a house to live in while recording, but discovered he couldn't help but return home every night.

He explained: "It was just an hour away from Los Angeles so I did come home, to be with my family."
