Welcome to the insane world of György Pálfi. Even if you have seen his previous film, Hukkle, a raw, near wordless film about ornery peasant folk, nothing would have prepared you for this. Based on the short stories of Lajos Parti Nagy this scabrous and unforgettable film tells the grotesque tale of three generations of men from WWII to the present day.

The grandfather can shoot fire from his penis, the son is an obese speed eater and the grandson is a taxidermist of the unusual. Think Svankmajer, early Lynch and a touch of Tinto Brass and you will be prepared.

GFT, Glasgow from Mon 13 Aug.
