When lovebirds Sadie (Mandie Moore) and Ben (John Krasinski) become engaged, Reverend Frank (Robin Williams) puts them through a tortuous marriage preparation course to see if they deserve to be married in church. The programme includes couples counselling, bedroom surveillance, and the babysitting of two robotic fake babies while shopping at Macy’s. You would have thought that Williams is now rich enough to be able to avoid starring in sentimental nonsense like this. As uninspired and overblown as the worst kind of traditional English wedding. General release from Fri 10 Aug
