Amy MacDonald lacks confidence in playing and singing at the same when she records in the studio.
Amy MacDonald still lacks confidence when it comes to performing in the studio.
The 'Don't Tell Me That It's Over' singer said despite recording two albums she still gets nervous when she picks up her guitar to lay down new tracks.
She said: "I'm never confident with what I do, particularly playing and singing! So I wasn't confident in the studio, but I was trying to be as quick as possible.
"I'm confident when I perform but going into a horrible, boring studio and playing the same thing over and over again is really different to being on stage!"
She added that although she doesn't like studio recording she understands why it is necessary to get the best results.
She said: "When you're doing it in the studio you're trying to get the perfect take or make it perfect but when you're on stage it just all comes together nicely anyway."
Amy, 22, also talked about how she hasn't fully moved into the digital age yet, and prefers to buy CDs over downloading new music.
Amy added: "I've always bought CDs. I just like the excitement of opening it, reading the book, learning all the words and things like that.
"Hopefully I'll always be like that. Sometimes if you want something instantly you can just go and get it on the internet immediately, but I've never done it illegally because I know how much it harms artists."
