Subcurrent 2010: No Concept/ No Clue
It’s the return of the annual experimental music festival, brought to you by those Glasgow champions of the underground, Volcanic Tongue. A tenner on the door will get you performances by Matt Valentine and Erika Elder (think spectral jams and folky Americana from deep in the Vermont woods); Richard Youngs and Heather Leigh; gentle free-jazz drumming from Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides; and local noise rock from Glasgow’s own Smoke Jaguar.
CCA, Glasgow, Sat 21 Aug.

Just a few corrections to the above. The festival is called Subcurrent, not Subcurrents. MV & EE are Matt Valentine and Erika Elder (not Erik), Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides is the opposite of 'frantic' free-jazz, they're much more meditative and spare. And 2 additional acts not mentioned are playing on the bill: Richard Youngs who will be performing his recent album on Jagjaguwar Beyond The Valley Of Ultrahits and Heather Leigh who will be playing electric pedal steel guitar and vocals. Doors are at 6:30PM and the music starts at 7:00PM!
