A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Dumfries among outdoor theatre highlights for 2010

Beauty and the Beast

The theatre season may be winding down in the Central Belt as we await the arrival of Edinburgh’s Festivals, but further afield there’s a rich selection of plays and performances for the outdoor theatre lover. The beautiful landscape and mild climate of Dumfries and Galloway makes the perfect backdrop to al fresco performances, and this year’s programme includes some highly anticipated classics, including Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Crichton Campus in Dumfries, and Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s productions of Pride and Prejudice and Beauty and the Beast (pictured) at Castle Kennedy in Stranraer.
