We chat to Judith Riddle, press officer at the Vaudeville Cabaret Club, a night of eclectic exotica and risqué entertainment hosted by the ever so suave Dusty Limits (pictured). Every night at 1am it morphs into the One O’Clock Gun club, a showcase of indie, rock and other live acts.

5 words to describe the Vaudeville/One O’Clock Gun Club experience?
Bacchic bedlam, spontaneous raw anarchy.

4 things you love about the DJs/acts/bands on the bill
They are fabulously glamorous. They all agreed to perform for no guarantee of pay, be it trapeze, knife swallowing or c**t bingo. Every performer is unique. Individually they are all extravagantly exciting and talented.

3 things you love about Edinburgh during the Festival
The opportunity for experimentation. The inspiring, creative and addictive atmosphere and energy. It keeps going all night long.

2 things you hate about Edinburgh in August
The cost of a pint! Trying to decide what to do next, there are just so many wonderful things happening all the time.

1 thing you would change about the Edinburgh club scene
I would stop the sun ever rising

The Bongo Club, 558 7604, 5–26 Aug (not Fridays, Saturdays), 10.30pm–5am, £8.50–£9.50 (£7.50–£8.50) before 1am (£5 after).
