'Gossip Girl' actress Taylor Momsen has admitted the only personality trait she shares with her alter-ego Jenny Humphrey's is their love for fashion.

Taylor Momsen's interest in fashion is her only similarity to her 'Gossip Girl' character.

The actress - who portrays chic schoolgirl Jenny Humphrey in the US teen drama series - doesn't have much in common with her TV alter-ego apart from their shared interest in keeping up with the latest trends and styles.

She told Fearne Cotton on BBC Radio 1: "Am I anything like Jenny? I actually think I'm a lot different to Jenny, in most ways I guess. Obviously we have similarities, we're both fashion orientated, we both very much enjoy fashion, but as far as personality traits and the way we view the world I guess is very different.

"I'm not Jenny Humphrey everyone, I'll make that announcement once and for all. It's just a character I play on television."

The 16-year-old actress and singer - who also fronts pop rock band The Pretty Reckless - adores working on the series because the whole 'Gossip Girl' team work hard to make sure it is "fun".

She added: "The best thing about working on 'Gossip Girl' is that it is a really great project to be a part of. The show is really great and everyone who works on it, the producers and the writers are really awesome. It's a lot of fun to be a part of."
