David Noonan: Spiel

Washington Garcia has taken operations off-site for three weeks to present the first solo exhibition in Scotland by Australian artist David Noonan. For the exhibition, Noonan, whose work blends myth, fact and fiction in a diverse range of found imagery to create dramatic, highly elaborate and sumptuously finished works, will be responding to the grand and unconventional surrounds of the library’s public reading room. His installation incorporates elements from existing bodies of work alongside a newly commissioned piece, which brings into play the audience’s own navigation through the dramatically charged space.
