The London production may have closed its doors for the last time at the end of March, but the award-winning musical adaptation of John Waters’ crazy, camp masterpiece is taking to the road for a UK tour that includes a couple of Scottish stop-offs. Michael Ball reprises the role of early 60s Baltimore housewife Edna Turnblad, whose ‘pleasantly plump’ hair-hopper daughter Tracy Turnblad wins a spot on the local TV dance programme The Corny Collins Show and sets out to win the attentions of local heartthrob Link Larkin.
Glasgow Clyde Auditorium, Wed 28 Apr–Sat 8 May, then touring.
