Scottish Fashion news March 2010
The First Saturday of the month means it’s time for Edinburgh’s craft community to gather again at Morningside Maker’s Market. Head to the street the Dominion Cinema’s on, for retro gingham tablecloths, digitally printed cushions, and handmade goods made from felt, wood, leather and ceramics. Sat 3 Apr, see www.morningsidemakersmarket.co.uk for info.
Glasgow-based ‘neo-craft’ collective, Made in the Shade bring the good stuff to the east coast next month, when they launch their first Edinburgh-based craft fair. The Springtime Jamboree will take place in the Roxy Art House, on Sat 15 May. www.wearemadeintheshade.com
Owned by H&M (so they know a thing or two about doing things with overdraft-friendly price-tags), Cos opened their first Scottish store last month in Glasgow. No need to wait ‘til your next London trip; their minimal, design-led styles, which reflect the brand’s Scandinavian roots, can now be found at Princes Square. www.cosstores.com
