Big tipper Matt Damon
Matt Damon insisted on specially-prepared food during a recent night out, but delighted waiting staff at New York nightspot Stanton Social by leaving a $400 tip.
Matt Damon thrilled restaurant staff by leaving a $400 tip.
The 'Green Zone' actor splashed out on a specially-prepared dinner for himself, wife Luciana and a group of friends at New York nightspot Stanton Social on Saturday (20.03.10) and delighted workers at the eatery with his generous manner.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Matt ordered nine chilled lobsters, which aren't even on the menu. But the restaurant made it happen.
"Not only was he extremely polite, he left a $400 tip on top of the added gratuity."
Matt isn't the only Hollywood star to display their generosity while dining out.
Kiefer Sutherland ran up a $500 bar bill buying drinks for everyone in The Spot in San Pedro, California, after finishing filming on US drama '24', and then left staff an additional $200 tip.
Last year, Johnny Depp gave a staggering $4,000 gratuity at a Chicago restaurant.
The 46-year-old actor was celebrating a red carpet screening of his movie 'Public Enemies' with a group of friends - including his co-star Marion Cotillard and the film's director Michael Mann - at Gibsons Bar and Steakhouse when he left the mammoth tip.
Waiter Mohammed A. Sekhani confirmed: "Depp hosted a party of 15 people, including Mann and Cotillard, and the tip was split 12 ways. Depp is the finest of all the stars I have ever waited on."
